Wire Wrapping at the Coronado Center

4/25/2017

Wire Wrapping a Cabochon March 27 & 28, 2017 was a full class of 15 enthusiastic students.  They hovered around, watched closely, and then choose their own pieces to work with in either copper or brass wire (or a combination).  They worked hard both days but I am sorry to say we ran out of time.  Next session I hope to extend to 3 hours each day.  I was concerned about the students’ hands getting tired….but they were troopers.  Pleased with what they accomplished.  They kept me so busy I only have a few pictures and some that students sent me later.  Good job.  Thanks to the Coronado Center (POA) and National Park Community College Continuing Education for sponsoring this workshop.

Here it is April and I am still writing about March.  I can definately say March was one busy month.  Had a really great workshop in Yellville, Arkansas photographing and painting shiny objects. (March 23 and 24, 2017) The group did a really great job.  It was fun seeing them photograph and get excited about the cast shadows.  Here are a few pictures below of them in action.  Thanks Palette Art League for sponsoring the workshop and inviting me to teach.

Painting Large Realistic Flowers in Watercolor

3/16/2017

It all started on a  chilly, dreary day at the Coronado Center in Hot Springs Village, AR, a group of ladies began and almost completed some really wonderful roses to the point you could almost smell them.  (March 13 & 14, 2017....9AM to Noon)  They really had to work hard and they did because 6 hours is not a long time at  all to complete a painting.  Take a look at the slide show below.  Thanks to Maureen for sending me her pictures too.

A big thanks to National Park Communtiy College (Continuing Education) and the Coronado Center for co-sponsoring the two day workshop and thanks for those taking the class.  Enjoyed watching you all blossom and bloom!

Not The Marathon

Not the Marathon but it felt like it.  Six students kept me "running" for two days (March 4 & 5, 2017) at the Arkansas Arts Center in Little Rock, AR eager to learn all they could about Polymer Clay.  They conditioned, color mixed, textured, shaped, and made lots of wonderful pieces.  Of course I forgot to take a picture of all their finished pieces but I did take pictures of the group working diligently.  Take a look below.....what a good time I had.  Thanks for taking the "Polymer Clay a True Art Form Workshop", and thanks to Arkansas Arts Center for sponsoring.

What a fun event February 16 put on by the Eureka Springs School of the Arts.   They really know how to have a good time and share it with others.  Take a look at creativity at work.  Everyone had the same canvass and same colors but look at the wonderful variety and originality going on....plus fun!

Thanks ESSA for having me.
Thanks Eureka Springs Independent for covering.
Thanks Basin Park Hotel for the facility.

Looks l ike I am getting in the swing of things since we are not on the road traveling and sight seeing.

I have just uploaded some additional workshops I will be teaching in the near future.  I enjoy teaching so thought that would be some of my goals for the year.  Check out what I am up to by going to "Scheduled Workshops" and just browse.

I also am working on my display at Butler Center Gallery in Little Rock.  More to come on that.  It is just another challenge I set up for myself
